The exterior is decorated with intricate blue-and-white arabesque patterns framing vibrant rose medallion panels (mado-e), complemented by delicate underglaze blue floral motifs on the interior. About the Artist Shigeharu Sakai thoroughly studied and researched traditional Nabeshima pottery techniques in Okawachiyama (Imari) before establishing his kiln at the foot of Mount Yatsugatake in Shinshu.
